A Little Bit About Me
I’m a UX designer who loves understanding complex systems in order to find better solutions through design.
I started out in marketing, but after a few years, I made the leap into design, as solving problems and building products were the parts I enjoyed most. Since then, I’ve designed for startups, in corporate environments, and on the agency side. Along the way, I’ve learned to work at different speeds, across multiple disciplines, and to facilitate workshops with a wide range of stakeholders.
When I’m off the clock, you can find me walking around taking photos, consuming copious amounts of sparkling water, riding my onewheel around the city, and climbing rocks. Lots and lots of rocks.
Stef’s Philosophies
Guiding principles for my life and for my work:
-
Stay Curious
The more you explore, the further you go.
Knowledge opens doors, so I'm always learning something new. Whether it's developing a new skill, exploring a forest trail, or getting lost down a random subreddit rabbit hole, I love the thrill of discovery.
-
Mix Logic and Emotion
Yes, they can work hand-in-hand.
Sometimes you need hard evidence, and sometimes your gut just knows something will work. The best design decisions supplement data with feeling, and vice versa.
-
Design for Business
This is my business degree speaking.
User-centered design doesn't mean much without a business case behind it. I dig into the business factors driving a project so I can make decisions with all users and stakeholders in mind.
